About me

Small dog in the grass

Hi, I’m Alina Kupershtein. I create dolls.

Each one belongs to a space with its own rhythm and rules. I sculpt, sew, paint, build accessories, and invent small systems to make them feel alive.

I’m not always sure where these characters come from. They show up as mental images, and I’m glad when I manage to hold on to them long enough
to bring someone new into our reality.

I was born in Russia, but now I live and work in Germany. This site is a place
to collect what I do: dolls, illustrations, fragments of process.

I try to document the process, even when it shifts or slows down.
It’s interesting to look back and see how things came together.

There will also be updates about dolls available for purchase, as new ones are added over time.

What stays with me: fragments of meaning, worn textures, unstable systems, absurd proportions, half-logics, broken references.
I collect and adjust them until something holds.
